The Forbidden Fruit
2019
Religion has been a continues theme in most of my work as it also lies close to my own roots. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of what spirituality means to a variety of different people and how they view or imagine themselves through their spiritual beliefs. Sin dates back to Adam and Eve and the Original Sin it was their curiosity that prompted them to disobey God. They were tempted by the forbidden fruit and by eating of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil they instigated an act of passion for themselves. Thus, began the first feelings of revolting against the love that their Maker had given them. Adam and Eve begin to encounter an outpouring of lust and moreover confusion concerning their nudity. Vulnerability plays into their hands, and they are cast out of the garden into the wilderness to fend for themselves. When God made them, he filled Adam and Eve with all the grace and virtue they would ever need, and they experienced a close relationship with God. Though Original Sin has had far-reaching consequences, of greater consequence is how each person deals with his own personal temptations, vulnerabilities, and shortcomings.
