Artist Statement

As a photographer my work has varied and progressed over the past few years, trying to capture different subjects. Through this exploratory process I discovered that portraiture is where I flourish. I find myself continuously interested in photographing our current contemporary culture through portraits. I strive for beauty and perfection in all my images, desiring to create each scene as a continued series that at a later date might once again appear under the scrutiny of my lens.

I begin my process by visualizing a color scheme, holding a symbolic reference in my mind, including various themes and then straying from “the color theory” onto the final religious significance.  I use color as a tool to emphasize emotions and cultural boundaries. I connect these aspects to my work through color and religion. These have become powerful influences in my life and work. Most of my photography relates to the modern-day era while alluding to historical references. The aspect of beauty remains a priority and will always play major role in my artistic process.
